How to apply for visiting scholar programs
Visiting scholar programs host researchers at a university or institute for a term or a year, sometimes with funding. Applications usually need a research proposal, a CV and a host who agrees to sponsor the visit.
How these are won
- Write to a potential host early with a short, specific note on shared research interests; many programs require their agreement.
- Propose a realistic plan for the visit's length and what you will produce.
- Check visa and funding rules; some programs ask for proof of funding for the whole stay.
